I am sorry to inform you that the new Portsmouth Guildhall Trust has decided to remove their support of Pompey Beer Festival 2011. In the past, DC Leisure (The old Guildhall events company) has been happy to be the guarantor for the event. The Festival has never lost money or required any financial support; in fact it has always made DC Leisure a profit. The new Guildhall Trust do not share DC’s Leisure’s imagination or enthusiasm or see a need to support a Beer Festival that has truly benefited the City. There has never been any violence or public disturbance. We have dispensed 60,000 pints of Ale and Cider, and raised (all of us) £15,000 for local charities and had a good time!
